Back to School, Back to Scouts!

posted Aug 10, 2019, 1:50 PM by Pack Webmaster

Welcome new cub scouts, and welcome back, returning cubs! As the school year starts, we have less than a month from the first Den meetings of the year! Remember to make new friends through school and other activities and ask them to join you in scouting. The calendar of upcoming events will be posted here on the Pack Website. It is powered by Google calendar, so click on (or touch) the "+Google Calendar" button to add the separate calendar to your phone or Google account. Or, just add the website home page to your bookmarks to keep up with the next few upcoming events! Be prepared! --Pack Webmaster

Preparation for 2019 Blue & Gold Banquet

posted Mar 20, 2019, 6:54 PM by Pack Site Admin

Greetings Scouts, Parents, and other Family! It's the time of year for Blue and Gold once again. We will have the banquet on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 6pm at Armstrong Elementary. The event will last approximately 2 hours until 8pm, followed by breakdown and cleanup. All scouts should attend in full Class A uniform, and remember to purchase the Neckerchief for the next rank (or their rank might become "Invisible" Cub -- which isn't as fun as it sounds). RSVP for volunteers and all attendees (including Scouts) is available on the SignUpGenius link in the recent e-mail from Den Leader Jaycee Carroll. Our Arrow of Light candidates will cross into Scouthood at the Spring Campout in addition to receiving their commendations at the banquet. Get ready to Rank Up!

A Note About Photos at Pinewood Derby

posted Jan 25, 2019, 3:18 PM by Pack Webmaster

In order to prevent any potential issues regarding photos of Scouts at our events, as a reminder, please remember to be responsible with any photography of the Scouts and other minors at official Pack 243 events. Parents, if you or your child(ren) need(s) to be excluded from all photography for any reason, *please* express that fact to Pack leadership ASAP and mention in person at registration and to any of our Akela taking photographs.

Pinewood Derby is tomorrow, 1/26! Seeking a few remaining helpers!

posted Jan 25, 2019, 3:12 PM by Pack Webmaster

Scouts: are you ready to race? Start your...engine blocks? Parents, keep an eye on e-mails from Pack leaders and your Den leaders regarding registration. Pack leadership is also seeking a few helpers to set up tonight (Friday 1/25)and a few capable hands to break down the room at North Pointe church after the end of the Derby tomorrow. Also, to all Akela, if you are able to assist in carrying pieces of the track (they may be up to 50 pounds per piece) after the conclusion of the awards, please e-mail Tim Hoover, Chip Walker, and/or John Foutch with your name and we will let you know how to assist.

Happy New Year! Racers, start your jigsaws and chisels!

We ask that boys sit without adults per rank, with Tigers on the first row and den leaders (and maybe an extra parent) at the end of the rows.

If you checked out Camp Cards please bring the money from sold cards and all left over cards to turn them in. If you can't make it to the meeting let me know ASAP so we can arrange a time and place to turn in the money/cards.
